• Usage Data: Screens visited, login timestamps, notification interactions
• Location: We do NOT collect GPS or precise location data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To authenticate parents and provide access to their child's school data
• To send push notifications about attendance, homework, fees, exams, and school announcements
• To display real-time attendance, homework, fee status, and academic information
• To send SMS OTP for secure login verification
• To send fee payment reminders on due dates
• To display school gallery photos and videos
• To show gate pass history for student exit/entry records
• To improve the App and fix technical issues

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely on our servers hosted at myschoolguru.co.in. We implement the following security measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption)
• Passwords and PINs are encrypted and never stored in plain text
• Database access is restricted to authorized school staff only
• FCM tokens are stored securely and used only for push notifications
• Regular security updates are applied to our servers

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to send push notifications to your device. Google's privacy policy applies — policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Play Services: Used for app distribution and device integrity checks
• SMS Gateway: Used to send OTP verification messages to your registered mobile number

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT share your personal data with any third parties except:

• School administrators and teachers — to manage student records
• SMS service providers — only your mobile number is shared to send OTP
• Firebase/Google — only your device FCM token is shared for push notifications
• Legal authorities — if required by law or court order

7. Children's Privacy

The MVM Smart App is designed for parents and guardians of school students. While the App displays student data (name, attendance, homework), this information is only accessible to the registered parent or guardian after secure login with OTP verification.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All student data is provided and managed by the school administration.

8. Push Notifications

The App sends push notifications for:

• Attendance alerts (absent/late)
• Homework reminders
• Fee payment reminders
• Exam schedule updates
• School announcements and circulars
• Birthday and anniversary wishes

You can disable push notifications at any time from your device's Settings → Apps → MVM Smart App → Notifications.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your child is enrolled in the school. Once a student leaves the school:

• Active login access is disabled
• FCM tokens are removed from our notification system
• Academic records are retained for 3 years as required by school regulations
• You may request complete data deletion by contacting us

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data held by us
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Opt-out: Disable push notifications at any time from device settings
• Portability: Request your data in a readable format

11. Cookies and Local Storage

The App uses browser local storage (not cookies) to store:

• Your login session (student ID, admission number)
• App preferences (theme, language)
• Cached school data for faster loading
• PIN lock settings (stored encrypted)

This data is stored only on your device and is cleared when you logout or uninstall the App.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through a push notification or an in-app message. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes relating to this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Puducherry, India.
